Clear toughened glass splashbacks that let your wall colour or tiles show through while protecting them from heat and splashes. Available with pre-drilled holes and fixings.
Clear glass splashbacks that let your wall colour show through
A clear glass splashback protects the wall behind a hob or sink while letting the paint colour or feature wallpaper behind it show through. It is the right choice if you have already decorated and do not want to hide the wall, or if you want the look of a painted splashback that you can change by repainting.
We make clear panels in toughened safety glass with polished edges. The standard panel fixes with adhesive. The version with pre drilled holes and fixings screws to the wall instead, which suits painted or papered walls where you may want to remove the panel later, and leaves the wall colour fully visible with no adhesive shadows.
Held in standard sizes and dispatched in 1 to 3 working days.
Painting the wall behind a clear splashback
Use a good quality matt or eggshell emulsion and let it cure for at least a week before fitting. Any imperfections in the wall will be visible through clear glass, so fill and sand first.
Frequently Asked Questions
Should I choose adhesive or screw fixings?
Adhesive gives a clean look with no visible fixings and is the usual choice for plasterboard or tiled walls. Screw fixings suit painted or papered walls where you want to keep the wall decoration fully visible and may want to take the panel down to redecorate.
Will adhesive show through clear glass?
It can if applied carelessly. Use thin, even beads in a grid across the back and press the panel flat so they spread. For a completely clean look, choose the pre drilled panel with screw fixings instead.
Is clear glass heat resistant behind a hob?
Yes. It is the same toughened safety glass as our coloured and printed panels and is suitable behind gas, electric and induction hobs. The wall paint behind it should be heat tolerant, as it would need to be with no splashback.
Does clear glass have a tint?
All clear glass has a very faint green edge tint that is most visible on the polished edges. Across the face of the panel it is barely noticeable and the wall colour behind shows through accurately.
